These terms cover your use of Utusu, a Mac application published by Kuaru Studios LLC ("we", "us"). By installing or using Utusu, you agree to them.
Utusu is free to use: manual backups are unlimited, and scheduled backups run once a month. Buying Utusu Pro is a one-time purchase that raises that to whatever interval you set, and grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Utusu on Macs you own or control. A Pro license does not expire and includes updates we release for that version. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or your license key.
Utusu makes copies of content you already own or have access to. We claim no rights over anything Utusu backs up, and we never receive it — see the Privacy Policy.
Utusu is a tool, not a guarantee. Backups can fail for reasons outside our control: Notion API changes or outages, permission changes, a full or disconnected disk, your destination folder's own cloud sync (iCloud Drive, Google Drive) falling behind or failing. Check that your backups exist and can be opened before relying on them, and do not treat Utusu as your only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Utusu is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or business interruption, arising from your use of Utusu. Our total liability for any claim relating to Utusu is limited to the amount you paid for it. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Utusu Pro is a one-time purchase. Once activated, the license does not expire and keeps working on your Mac offline, with nothing to renew. Licenses are non-refundable.
The exception is a problem we cannot solve. If Utusu is not working for you, write to us. If we cannot fix it, we will revoke your license and refund your purchase in full.
Utusu works with Notion, and your use of Notion is governed by your agreement with Notion. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Notion Labs, Inc. If Notion changes, suspends, or discontinues the API access Utusu relies on (which their terms permit at any time), some or all of Utusu's features may stop working.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do. Continuing to use Utusu after a change means you accept the updated terms.
